What does riding mean to you?

Riding gave me a sense of community. You’re never alone on the bike. I’ll pass someone, we smile and wave and that brings me so much joy. I’ve met so many important people in my life because of cycling and it’s given me some incredible opportunities.

What is your favourite set up?

Shimano. PeriodT!

Do you think the environment is male dominated? If yes, what are your thoughts about it?

The industry and the sport of cycling is dominated by white and eurocentric males. It’s hard to be a person of colour in addition to being female. The opportunities shrink, you get overlooked, sidelined, or straight up told you don’t belong here. Anyone in the “other” category understands this struggle. I don’t see it changing anytime soon as long as men continue to stay in charge and gatekeep the sport.

Any riding plans for the future?

I’m looking forward to working at some up coming races this season as a junior race mechanic as well as participate in some time trials and criteriums. I would also love to explore the world of bike packing one day.
